Donation FAQs

What items can I donate?

We gratefully accept gently-used clothing, non-perishable food items, hygiene products (e.g., toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo), blankets, household essentials, and new or used (working) electronics. For an up-to-date list of our most-needed items, please view our monthly Priority Needs list on the home page of our website.

We cannot accept medication, children’s clothing, and toys. Large furniture and mattresses are only accepted on an as-needed basis.

Can I donate food, and are there any restrictions?

Yes, we accept non-perishable food items, fresh produce, and frozen goods. Please ensure all items are unopened and within their expiry dates. We can also accept dairy and meals, but only from commercial kitchens that have held these products within proper food safety temperature ranges.

For safety reasons, we cannot accept opened containers or home-cooked meals from non-commercial donors.

Can I schedule a bulk donation or pick-up service?

Yes, we are happy to coordinate bulk donations! Please email us at [email protected] or call 519-667-0322 to schedule a time. Unfortunately, we do not offer a pick-up service, but we can assist in arranging transportation if needed.

Do you provide tax receipts for donations?

Yes, we provide tax receipts for both monetary donations and in-kind gifts that meet Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. Please include your name and address with your donation to ensure timely receipt issuance.
